When we go above 50, then cataract starts to make our lens blurry. When we get this surgery, doctor uses to replace this blurry lens with the intraocular lens. The intraocular lens is an artificial lens. To remove the blurry lens from the eye, ultrasound waves are used, after breaking the blurry lens into pieces; these pieces are taken out with the help of suction. This process is known as phacoemulsification. After this process, the intraocular lens is placed inside the eye behind the iris and pupil.
